We fully cure your firewood on-site, by heat treating it in our kiln. The result is firewood with a Moisture Content (MC) averaging 5%, or about 75% less internal water content than conventionally seasoned wood.

Since water doesn’t burn, it has to be evaporated out of the log by the existing fire heat. This is heat that you don’t “get”. Instead, this heat is absorbed by the excess water, converted into hot water vapour, and exhausted up and out your chimney stack.

Because WoodBox firewood delivers a more complete combustion, the fires tend not to smolder . This significantly reduces potential creosote accumulation in your chimney. It also makes for more enjoyable outdoor fires.

Our kiln treatment also minimizess the spitting and sparking that is commonly experienced with burning softwoods. Our softwoods burn without the pops and sparks…but you still get that satisfying crackle.

Once your firewood has been cut, split, and given The WoodBox Special Treatment, it then goes into our storage facility to keep it pristine and fire-ready until it is picked up or delivered to you.
